Its funny that this article echoes the same thoughts I had when watching a news clip of this story. Seeing the reedy, tanned, plastic-ey looking trans contender in her big booby evening gown, her assless bikini….I couldn’t help but bemoan the fact that we were defending the right of someone to represent an even more impossible physique. But the other part of me thinks…well, people want to look at her cause she’s unusual(y beautiful or otherwise)….I can’t quite make up my mind. I still really really hate beauty pageants. The fact that they still have so many staunch supporters and promote this weird kind of powerful decorative doormat really undermines and unsettles me in a way I don’t totally feel comfortable talking about.
