on a theme: with arms cut..

yellow? (sorry this is as much for me… as a way to catalog what I’m finding as for you to look at )
March 21, 2011 at 14:54
Whoa…okay, one at a time….
The white temperly (original post): Fuck yah.
The vintage 70’s dresses: Trite. Hipster. No.
Definitely no to yellow. You look stunning in white anyhow, so roll with the theme.
I really like the dress you originally posted. Its interesting and unusual and its not trying hard to evoke something. I think it suits you.

I’m not a fan of the temperly- mainly because of the stretch ponte- too reminiscent of Eva Longoria and the Herve Leger craze circa 2009.
I like the “shortened” option somewhat, but a lot of the ebay versions have a bit too much frou frou and not enough quality fabric.

No such thing as too much in a post– I love the idea of helping in the search.

Hmm…I am very surprised by AC’s lack of confidence in the temperly. My thought is that its pretty golden. I also really like the ‘dress to be shortened’ option but its hella small (30 inch bust, 20 inch waist!) anyway all this ebaying helped me come across this:
so reminiscent of the new hermes collection thats been getting lots of buzz the last week or so. LOVE it

different but i like it: obviously it would fit me super different than the model.

love alice & olivia, here are some dresses that just caught my eye, not really editing myself too much at this point just looking around:

I still love the temperly; I disagree with AC’s comment cause the herve leger bandage dress will always be one of my favorite designs. I had loved it when I was little (saw it first on Naomi Campbell) and I think it endures as a universally flattering design.
That being said, the temperly doesn’t evoke the herve leger design. The thing that pisses me right off is the exposed zipper. I hate that decorative back zipper with a passion and I feel like it will really (horribly) date that dress. We’ll all cringe in 10 years when we see that.
I like the alice and olivia bustier dress. But I think personally I wouldn’t go for a strapless wedding dress. I kinda hate how universal and trite strapless is to weddings. I love the idea of the dress being a bit more casual and urban, but still looks expensive.
This is unrealistic, but i”d love to see this on you:
Will research more when I have time….very exciting.

a little plain maybe but acne has never let me down:

Sex pot: go to the back view
March 24, 2011 at 09:56
this is actually pretty close to the dress I first imagined but the fabric looks cheap:
March 24, 2011 at 10:03
No. You might need two hairdos to wear that last dress. Nobody needs to show their britney at their wedding.
I like the acne dress.
March 24, 2011 at 15:19
So cheap it might be worth a try:
But honestly, I think I’m just getting overwhelmed by all the crap on etsy. What the fuck. Ella, why haven’t we raided abbotsford and started our own etsy ‘vintage’ line. SEriously. These people are selling ridiculous shit for ridiculous prices.
March 27, 2011 at 17:16
I dislike the temperly because of the combo of ponte stretch fabric and exposed zipper combo dates it. Also it just doesn’t seem like a good summer/day/park wedding– too heavy and not free enough.

Don’t like the sex pot matches dress, love the acne (but agree that it is a little plain for a wedding day), love the concept of the “first vision” dress you posted that already sold and does seem like the fabric is cheapo.
Really really like Blaireau’s post of the lace pencil dress- that would be beautiful.
Just continuing on the vein of bodycon:
Agree with the strapless sentiment whole heartedly but I had a stroke of brilliance in the cousin of stapless. Off the shoulder deliciousness. (admittedly the dress is in the fantasy realm and the wrong colours but I like the concept for you):
I really only like the back:
I think not but I’m reaching in reminiscence of your original idea:
Hits the button in terms of fabric and quality…could be quite sexpottish if thats what you are looking for:
