In fact, there are a bunch of Danner boots I like.

Also love these from Lark:

Fryes are lovely too and I know they are super comfy:

I’d remove the fur from the sorrels.

My understated motorcycle boots arrived two months ago, and while chic I too am longing for lace up boots with a more grounded hiker-ish feel. The fryes are great- the kodiaks are perfection.
I want to dress like a beatnik wilderness man next winter.

Yeah, me too. Flannies and wool socks and lots of leather.
I love the Danners. I also love the Frye’s. I’ve been eyeing up a pair of Frye Carsons (slip on cowboy booties). In my ebay searches, the archies have come up a few times. Worth getting sized, they’re way cheaper on ebay than from anywhere else.

    really beautiful boots: http://www.georgiaboot.com/Products/search/womens_footwear

pretty much perfect and not too expensive, seems strange though buying something like this without trying them on first. in a way it harkens back to mailorder days.
