It’s coming

Weather!! Today is the first snow and although it lacks sticking power it is a reminder that very soon it will be unavoidable. Weather, as a subject, has been on my mind the last couple of weeks as I have been designing a hypothetical course that takes as its starting point the indeterminacy of that thing/stuff just above or is it around…

Anyway this venture has lead me on a few interesting hunts and produced some remarkable finds most notably Walter de Maria’s Lightening Field (pictured above), a real place outside of Albuquerque that the artist has set up with rods that turn the sky into a performance most evenings. They even have a cabin to stay at with home cooked meals (future road trip!).

So I need some word wizardry to come up with a title for the course, some sort of hook. So please put your witty caps on and help me out pretty please, any sort of puns about weather or some such thing, really doesnt need to include the word weather btw and it would be pretty cool if it was more descriptive or experiential or something (can you tell how lost I am? Not with the course- just with coming up with titles and one liners).

If you are still totally confused I’ll link my course outline. It is awfully fun trying to formulate a thematic course, that I will probably never teach, but carries me away hoping that i could. Thinking and planning are definitely more exciting than production.

Its an inter-media course using the indeterminacy of weather as its theme; the primary skills gained by the course are research related rather than learning how to do specific artistic techniques. I’ve attached the outline for you to skim.
